Safety in Pattaya: emergency numbers and practical checks
Save Pattaya emergency contacts, prepare insurance details and check rental terms before a problem interrupts your trip.
Prepare a small safety plan
Keep your hotel address in Thai, a map pin, an emergency contact and your insurer’s assistance number available offline. Agree a meeting point with companions if phones stop working. Recheck official travel advice for your full itinerary, especially before adding a border excursion. This page is a preparation checklist, not a real-time alert service.
Emergency contacts
In Thailand, call 1669 for a medical emergency or 191 for a police emergency. Give the location first: street, building, floor and a nearby landmark. Describe what happened and the number of people affected. Ask someone nearby to meet responders if that can be done safely; do not delay urgent help to contact this website.
Tourist Police
The Tourist Police number is 1155. For a non-emergency incident, prepare dates, the business name, receipts and a short factual account. Ask which report or reference you need for your insurer. Keep copies of any documents you submit. A tourist assistance call does not guarantee a refund or replace medical emergency services.
Questions for your insurer
Ask in writing whether your actual plans are covered: motorcycle riding, boat trips, combat-sport training or planned medical treatment. Request the excess, exclusions, approval procedure and assistance contact. Keep the answer with your policy. Compare coverage and reimbursement rules as carefully as price; this guide does not verify any individual policy.
Rentals, bookings and unexpected offers
Do not leave your passport as a rental guarantee. Before paying, record the agreed total, deposit conditions and cancellation terms, and photograph a rental vehicle’s condition. Verify a payment request through a contact you independently found. Pause if a stranger pressures you to act immediately, transfer money privately or accept an unusually lucrative job.
