Thailand visas for a Pattaya stay
Prepare a Pattaya stay with official visa checks, retirement questions, permitted-stay dates and careful selection of administrative help.
Start with your passport and purpose
A Pattaya hotel booking does not establish your right to enter or remain in Thailand. Use the official Thai eVisa service and the responsible Thai embassy or consulate to check your passport, current residence, purpose and intended dates. Old APattaya headlines about 93 countries and 60 days belong to their original publication period; do not use them as today's eligibility list. The arrival-card procedure and a visa are separate checks.
Choosing administrative assistance
Ask an agent for a written description of the service, the government charge separately from their fee, the documents required and the refund terms. Keep your own copy of every application and receipt. An agent can help organize paperwork but cannot promise an immigration decision. Do not sign blank forms or accept a proposal involving invented information. Check the authority's own instructions before sending passport scans to an intermediary.
Questions for a longer stay
Retirement is a purpose, not a single universally suitable permission. Tell the responsible authority your nationality, age, planned duration and whether you will apply abroad or are already in Thailand. Ask which category applies, what financial and insurance evidence is required, and how renewal and travel outside Thailand affect it. This guide deliberately gives no universal income threshold or approval guarantee.
Keep the permitted-stay date visible
Check the date granted on entry or in the official extension decision, then set reminders before it expires. A pending enquiry or a booking beyond that date is not evidence of permission to stay. If your plans change, contact Immigration promptly rather than waiting for an overstay. For a difficult case, obtain advice from a qualified independent professional and keep the official response.
