An overnight island visit can be easier with one small bag, but only if someone has agreed to look after the rest. Ask your Pattaya accommodation about storage after checkout, the collection deadline and any fee. If you will return to a different property, consider whether a separate luggage transfer is genuinely necessary. Keep documents, valuables and essentials with you rather than leaving them inside a bag stored between stays.
Match the boat and the accommodation
The Tourism Authority of Thailand identifies Ko Lan as a Pattaya excursion destination. For an overnight stay, ask the host which landing point suits the property and how the final journey will work. Check the actual boat service for your date, its passenger and baggage conditions and the boarding location. Avoid combining an old timetable with a new room booking and assuming both still fit together.
Pack for the confirmed arrangement
Bring what you need for the length of stay plus a reasonable delay, without treating a small bag as an invitation to omit essentials. Protect electronics and documents from splashes. Ask whether the accommodation supplies towels and whether any booked activity needs particular equipment. Choose luggage you can manage yourself through the real boarding and transfer process. A room reservation does not automatically include baggage handling at the pier.
Keep the return decision independent
Ask the transport operator where service changes are announced and what your ticket allows if the departure changes. Leave room between returning to the mainland and a flight or another inflexible connection. Decide where you could stay if an extra night became necessary, without making a non-refundable second booking solely as a precaution. Save the contacts needed to change the next hotel or transfer promptly.
Check the complete cost before agreeing
Put the room, boat, pier transfers, luggage storage and any late collection fee in separate lines. Confirm who provides each service and who can alter it. If the island host offers to coordinate transport, request the details rather than assuming everything is included in the room rate. A light-bag overnight should simplify the trip; it works best when the mainland and island arrangements are both explicit.
